B2B Sales Process Template

When you think about selling your product in a B2B context, it's important to consider the many stakeholders involved and the breadth of information required for a business to make a buying decision.

The mistake we made in the early days while growing our B2B SaaS business from $2 million in ARR to $18 million, we didn't have a defined sales process.

And it made it very difficult to understand our sales pipeline and evaluate individual sales rep performance.

My hope is that this template serves as a roadmap for how you can develop an effective B2B sales process for your business. Doesn't matter whether you're at an early stage startup or a late stage growth company.

1. I recommend you start by reviewing the example template first. Study every component of the sales process.
2. Then think through how it could be modified to best serve your customers and how they buy.
3. Study your customers. Duplicate this template. Then customize it for your sales team.
4. Implement a method of tracking progress through each stage. Try to automate this data capture as much as possible to avoid wasting sales reps time with administrative burdens.
5. Train your team on the sales process and institute a continuous learning program.
